Raining Down Like Cold Piss

Mud caked thick on it’s wheels and axles, the machine shivers and moans to life. We wait — wait for what seems like an eternity, then finally it lurches forward. The pathetic, ancient lifelessness is not-so-suddenly replaced by a terrifying determination and inevitability. Soon enough the clattering, arguing, and seemingly random crashes, chords, and shrieks would form a kind of music raining down like a cold piss.

Hands have been shook. Money is being gathered, cleaned, counted, and readied. Instruments are being oiled aggressively and carefully tuned. The Occult Detective Club are going to record an LP this spring.

The details:

It’s going to be called Ruins. It will be recorded at Cool Devices Studio. It will have more than ten, but less than fifteen songs lasting approximately half an hour. That’s all for now. I (we) love you more than you deserve.

First show in months

I know everyone out there has been waiting by the way side for months in eager anticipation of our next show.  Well guess what?  It’s finally upon us.  January 4th will be the first show ODC has played since Oct.

Chris is returning from his Euro travels and new man and experienced traveler of the world.

Anyways, the show is UNTD SNKS (mem of Leg Sweeper) from Austin, ODC, War Party, Street Arabs.  It’s a house show in Denton.  All the info you need is on the Facebook page.

Winter Hibernation

Thank you to everyone who came out to our last show of the year (?).  We really appreciated it and hope to see you guys at our future shows!  Thanks!

As mentioned in posts previous we are unable to play any shows between now and December due to Chris’ departures with Unfun across the pond and elsewhere.  However, we will be writing a new album while he’s away.  A brand new LP that’s right.  In fact, a large majority has been written as it stands and we can’t wait to play it for you (the loving masses?).

We’re shooting for a  March/April 2013 recording session and hopefully a mid to late 2013 release with touring to follow.  We may be venturing across the pond ourselves so keep an eye open and an ear to the ground.

OCT 8 MIND SPIDERS, LEGUAS LARGAS

We’re doing what could be our last show of the year on Oct 8th with the Mind Spiders, and Lenguas Largas (AZ) at Rubber Gloves in Denton.

Chris is leaving for Europe to fill in on drums with Unfun and will be gone for two months.  TWO MONTHS!  So if ya wanna catch an ODC show this could be the last one for year.  We’ll have copies of all of our records for the show so if ya still don’t have our split with Something Fierce on Dirtnap don’t sleep on this show.

Lenguas Largas is ex Swing Ding Amigos, and Shark Pants.  Needless to say that fucking rule!
